各国观点总结
Morocco's official position is that Western Sahara is its "Southern Provinces," historically, culturally, and religiously linked to Morocco and recovered as its sovereign territory following Spain's withdrawal in 1975.
In October–November 1975, citing the International Court of Justice's advisory opinion as recognizing "ties of allegiance" between Morocco and the Sahrawis, King Hassan II led 350,000 Moroccan civilians in the "Green March (Marche Verte)" to take administrative control of Western Sahara from Spain (Madrid Accords, November 1975). In 2007, Morocco proposed an "Autonomy Plan" to the international community, offering broad regional self-governance while explicitly excluding independence as an option. The United States, France, Spain, and many other countries have endorsed this plan as "serious and credible."
In Morocco's view, the Polisario Front is a force backed by Algeria for geopolitical reasons, promoting "separatism" rather than the genuine autonomy that Sahrawi people seek. In 2020, the United States recognized Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara, and Morocco normalized relations with Israel as part of the Abraham Accords.
